Environment
At PiLON we’re committed to minimising the environmental impact of all our operations. We comply with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations and approved codes of practice, and strive to reduce our contribution to pollution of land, air, and water. The proof is our last ISO 14001:2004 Environment Management System accreditation.
At regular internal workshops we scrutinise ways to minimise the impact we make, whether by using car pools, implementation of plant and tools, or how we control wastage. Our approach includes:
- Identifying the environmental impact of all operations
- Managing the waste generated, reducing the amounts produced, reusing and recycling where possible
- Providing environmental training for all our staff, covering current legislation, good site practice, waste management, ground contamination
- Making efficient use of natural resources by minimising waste and conserving energy and water
Adopting appropriate procedures, practice and operating guidelines, including measurable targets
Controlling contraction processes and design to protect the natural environment and built heritage
Ensuring that construction materials are ethically procured and used
We are a registered carrier and broker of controlled waste with the Environment Agency.
