Health and safety

Health and safety is front-of-mind at PiLON, and we’re proud to be a holder of The Certificate of Commitment – Gold Standard, from the Construction Skills Certification Scheme, also of a British Safety Council International Safety Award.

Our senior managers meet monthly to discuss innovative new legislation and health and safety campaigns.  Our aim is to go the extra mile. 

Every one of our site managers takes a five-day course on Health and Safety.  Each individual has to pass a test which qualifies him for the Construction Site Manager’s Safety Certificate.

All contract managers, site managers, and operatives on all of our sites participate in the presentation of educational Health and Safety DVDs organised and delivered by our in-house Health and Safety Manager, Shaun Litchfield who has GRAD IOSH in Occupational Health and Safety.

We have our own stringent site induction process, unlike many in our industry, complementing that of the main contractor.

And our Health and Safety Handbook, created in-house, provides clear guidance for operatives in two languages.

PiLON is a member of CHAS, British Safety Council and ROSPA.
